Memorial Weekend in Midland
If you haven’t already made plans for your holiday weekend, we figure you may be looking for something to do. Allow us to shed some light on a few of the many wonderful things happening in our community.
It is supposed to be sunny and warm all weekend; so why not head out to a local market? The Midland Area Farmer’s Market is a great place to grab fresh flowers, vegetables, baked goods, and even meats! The market will be going on this Saturday, 7am till noon, at the end of Ashman St. in downtown Midland- right near the Tridge.
If you’re not a morning person, but you like a good Market, then head over to Unity Park in Bay City (across the street from the Planetarium) and browse the East Bank Market- open Saturday from 10am-4pm.
What would a holiday weekend be without Fireworks? You have multiple opportunities to catch them this weekend. The Great Lakes Loons take on the Dayton Dragons all weekend, but you won’t want to miss the fireworks at the Saturday game starting at 7:05pm. If you prefer racing to baseball, then you’re in luck! The Tri-City Motor Speedway will also be having a fireworks display this Saturday. You can hit up the raceway on Friday night to see Figure 8 races, too! Make sure to sit in the Park Place Homes section of the grandstands!
Finally, end your weekend with the Memorial Day Parade starting at 10am in downtown Midland.
As always, if you’re looking for something fun to do in the Great Lakes Bay area visit our website for local links to attractions of all sorts.
