Community Info

Beaverton, known as “the South edge of the North”, sits along Ross Lake at the South Branch of the Tobacco River in Gladwin County. This vibrant community has a friendly small town atmosphere and offers many year-round activities and recreational opportunities– boating, swimming, golfing, hunting, and fishing to name a few. Residents can also enjoy the charming downtown area made up of many historical buildings and visit the city’s one-screen, old style movie theater featuring recently released films.
Beaverton offers city water and sewer services within city limits and the department of public works manages those utilities as well as maintaining the local campground, parks, streets, and a hydro-electric dam.

School Info

With a student to teacher ratio of about 17 to 1, Beaverton youth can expect more individual attention than students in larger schools. A recent millage extension ensures that students will be taught in properly maintained and secured buildings.

There are three school sites within the District. As of 2007, the Primary school houses K-3 students; The Middle School includes Grades 4-8 and the High School serves students in Grades 9-12. Career and technical education, and middle college programs are offered. MidMichigan Community College provides students dual enrollment opportunities.
