Beaverton, known as “the South edge of the North”, sits along Ross Lake at the South Branch of the Tobacco River in Gladwin County. This vibrant community has a friendly small town atmosphere and offers many year-round activities and recreational opportunities– boating, swimming, golfing, hunting, and fishing to name a few. Residents can also enjoy the charming downtown area made up of many historical buildings and visit the city’s one-screen, old style movie theater featuring recently released films. Beaverton offers city water and sewer services within city limits and the department of public works manages those utilities as well as maintaining the local campground, parks, streets, and a hydro-electric dam. Beaverton is home to the Beaverton Rural School District.
